She waited and waited. But nothing happened. "Why isn't it growing?" she asked Hoot, tapping her foot. "Patience, Tilly," Hoot said. "Good things take time." Page 6 One day, Tilly saw Benny the rabbit struggling to carry a heavy basket of carrots. "Oh, Benny!" she cried. "Let me help!" She helped Benny carry the carrots to his burrow. Page 7 When Tilly returned to her pot, she gasped. A tiny green sprout had peeked out of the soil! "It's growing!" she shouted. She had been so busy helping a friend, she hadn't noticed. Page 8 The sprout grew into a beautiful little plant with glowing flowers that looked like tiny stars. "What did you wish for, Tilly?" Hoot asked. Tilly thought for a moment. The mule cried and was so very hungry and thought "how can I show this man what is love?" The man took the mule into town and piled a bunch of food in front of him to eat. there was another man there though. This man was holding a single piece of bread. At first the mule was confused with the choice. But something in that bread felt like his mothers love from a long long time ago. He was so shocked thinking how could this be? that he knelt in front of this bread he knew was the source of all love. Hoping this would show the mean man that love requires all of us to sacrifice sometimes. The man was so shocked that he knelt down in front of the bread too and he yelled with tears and joy that this must be God. For surely God must be love

As they grew, they would visit their grandma, but less and less as there families grew. But they never forget and they always have their secret enchanted key to jump through the tree door anytime they wish. One day many years from now, they too will join their grandma for the magical adventures that await them beyond the tree door.
